As there will be a number of different committees taking part in the evaluation, it is necessary to guarantee that all of them decide according to the same basic principles and criteria and the results are comparable across the faculty. This should be ensured by a panel of evaluators composed of the faculty’s eminent experts.

Already in the preparation phase, the panel of experts had regular meetings and discussed the partial criteria under the leadership of the Vice-Dean for Accreditations and Evaluations with the aim to reach a consensus and comparability across disciplines. This faculty-wide perspective is then brought by members of the panel to individual committees. Whenever any of the committees has to deal with a disputable case, its member from the panel discusses it with the remaining members to achieve a faculty-wide consensus as to how to resolve the given case. In addition, any “extreme cases” are also submitted to the panel for consideration, such as: all publications proposed for evaluation as “excellent” or “below‑average”, and also all cases where the overall rating should be increased by two or three grades as compared to the initial one. This ensures that the evaluations by the individual commissions are comparable.
