In 2022/23, the zero round of evaluation will take place, which is supposed to set the parameters of the whole system. It will have all the features as all standard evaluations that will follow. However, it will differ from them in that ill will have milder consequences. Because until the recent publishing of the Career Development Regulations, it was not quite clear what the job description of some positions and their minimum standard should actually look like, this needs to be taken into account. The zero round of evaluation will allow us to clearly inform all employees what the system of work activities looks like, where they are positioned in it and whether they should do anything differently in the future.
Even academics who do not meet the standards will not be reprimanded in the zero evaluation (this will only be possible in extremely serious cases of significant and long-term apparent non-performance, which would allow a reprimand to be given anyway, even without the evaluation). Here, the employees will only learn in what aspects they do not meet the standards and what they should do to improve the situation. At the same time, the evaluation committee may require them to undergo a further evaluation in a shorter period of 1-3 years.
The zero evaluation will thus help us to fine-tune the system. Although we have spent a lot of time designing it, its functionality will only be tested during the zero evaluation. We assume that there will be a number of specific details that will need to be included in the system in order to adapt the evaluation process to reality. Therefore, we welcome any critical comments to the zero round of evaluation based on your experience.
